The first flight of a hybrid light helicopter demonstrator is scheduled for 2020 by Airbus Helicopters and the Ministry of Transport. This project, which will lead to the first flight of a demonstrator in 2020, will focus on the integration of an electrical power source to operate the main rotor for up to 30 seconds without using the appliance’s gas turbine.
CENTUM ADENEO will provide electrical converters for the demonstration package, which will include an electric motor provided by Thales and a battery pack developed by Airbus Defence and Space.
